T490 WQHDR vs Carbon X1 6G WQHDR
I am considering both these models as it’s not making financial sense to replace my T440s’ keyboard
I got the Carbon X1 and have 30 days to return it
My question is:
what are the major differences between these two laptops?
Display is the same, as is keyboard layout, abttery life about the same, carbon x1 seems more portable. T490 seems to run at cooler temps (nice) no hotswappable battery like before (no biggy), slow thunderbolt connection from what I hear (only 2 pcie lanes)
Basically on the T440s if your keys fell out you had to pretty much just unscrew the keyboard from outside the case and replace it. 10 minutes in and out. So beautiful, and why I thought about buying another thinkpad.
What about ease to repair, especially something with a high failure rate, like the keyboard. IT’s keeping me from keeping the X1, but it doesn’t seem reading Notebookcheck review on the 490 (non WQHD) that it comes with its own difficulty in opening the case.
Can I replace individual keys on both laptops? Which laptop would be easier to replace missing keys/keyboards with?
Both laptops have a dearth of replacement videos on YT. Taking out he motherboard to replace the keyboard is a huge turnoff for me, a hidden labour cost for most.

Google Docs
Does anyone else experience Google Docs crashing? This only happens when I am on my yogabook using google docs. I have sent reports to google, but since it doesn’t happen on a non-lenovo yogabook tablet, I think it’s the yogabook. Any suggestions?
X220 recovery "no core CD modules list file"
Just tried the recovery media made when first got my X220 & the restore & recovery program eventually throws up an error message "There is no core CD modules list file", so fails to restore.
The recovery media reads fine – just like it did when I checked after originally burning them – the restore & recovery program apparently wants to see something that wasn’t written to the discs in the first place.
I have also tried the three DVD (0A44006_1, 0A40707_2-1, 0A40733_2-2) Lenovo W7P installer disk set – which also concludes with the "There is no core CD modules list file".
Trying to get machine back to original state. There is no recovery partition on the HDD as when the X220 was purchased, Lenovo would no longer provide the downgrade media, so the partition is gone. Any suggestions?
