Which compatible M.2 SSD to buy for Y700-15ISK in 2019?

Hi everyone,

I would like to buy a compatible M.2 PCIe SSD for a Y700-15ISK laptop.

I tried to find a comprehensive list of compatible SSDs here and on Lenovo’s site but could not find any (apart from those listed in a Lenovo manual which are not available in any shop anymore). I have read all the related topics and found some pieces of useful information, but it is not complete.

Could you tell me based on your own experience which one of the below SSDs are clearly supported and recommended and which ones are not?

512GB Intel SSD M.2 760p Series (SSDPEKKW512G8XT)

500GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD (MZ-V7E500BW)

500GB WD Black M.2 SSD (WDS500G2X0C)

480GB ADATA SSD M.2 SX8200 XPG Series (ASX8200NP-480GT-C)

512GB ADATA SSD M.2 GAMMIX S11P (AGAMMIXS11P-512GT-C) – does it even fit in due to the large heat sink?

512GB Plextor M9PeGN M.2 SSD (PX-512M9PeGN)

512GB Silicon Power SSD M.2 P32A80 (SP512GBP32A80M28)

480GB Corsair SSD M.2 MP300 Series (CSSD-F480GBMP300)

512GB Transcend MTE110S M.2 2280 SSD (TS512GMTE110S)

512GB Kingmax SSD M.2 PJ3280 (KM512GPJ3280)

480GB Kingston SSD M.2 A1000 (SA1000M8/480G)

500GB Crucial SSD M.2 P1 (CT500P1SSD8)

500GB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD (MZ-N6E500BW) – this one is SATA exceptionally

I would like to have an SSD that works perfectly with the laptop, no glitches/hangs/hacks/issues, and one that does not overheat requiring heat sinks and stuff.

Your feedback on these SSDs used in this laptop is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

T440P power adapter

Hi all,

A few days ago, the rectangular plug on my old charger finally separated from the cable, marking the end of an era in laptop power supplies. Having used third-party adapters before with good results, I ordered Elecbrain’s 90W slim-tip adapter as a replacement off of Amazon. The new adapter charges my computer, but sometimes (maybe about 1 out of 3 or 4 times) fails to charge effectively ("plugged in, not charging"). I often have to wiggle the computer end of the plug in the port a bit to get it to charge at all; it’s also much harder to insert the plug into the computer than any of my previous cables. 1) Has anyone had any negative experiences with the Elecbrain adapter, and 2) in the likely event that I return the Elecbrain adapter, there any difference between these three official Lenovo adapters: 0B46994, 888015012, 4X20E75140? One of them is not labeled as "slim tip" and one of them is for the ThinkCentre instead of the ThinkPad, but the thumbnails all look identical. My machine is a Thinkpad T440P purchased in late 2015, model number 20AN006NUS.
