A485 – AMD Kit Driver 25.20.1401.6.1 – "Radeon settings version and Driver version do not match" bug

On both of my A485, I was attempting to update to the newly released AMD 25.20.1401.6.1 drivers, but upon updating, the Radeon tool was unable to launch with the error:

"Radeon settings version and Driver version do not match".

To fix this, I had to delete the value in registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREAMDCNDriverVersion

It seems the installer doesn’t correctly update the registry key

Ideapad 110 15isk – Boot Failure

Running Windows 10 on a Lenovo Ideapad 110-15isk. Laptop is close to three years old. Has a RAM upgrade.

A few days ago, my laptop gave me the blue screen of death, with “Unexpected store exception” as the error. It has not been able to boot up since.

I have tried:

– Restarting

– Removing RAM add-in and putting in the original component

– Re-installing Windows from a USB partition. A fresh install either fails, gets stuck at “Getting Files Ready For Installation”, or doesn’t show any partition drives except for “Drive 0 Unallocated Space”, with a total size of 0.0 mb.

– Doing a system restore. It gives me an error: “To use system restore, you must specify which Windows installation to restore. Restart this computer, select an operating system, and then select System Restore.”

– Doing system image recovery. Gives me an error that says, “Windows cannot find a system image on this computer.”

– Tried startup repair. Gives me, “Could not repair your PC”. No log file

– Tried bootfix in command. Tells me access is denied.

Hard drive shows up in BIOS. Disk check shows no errors. RAM test, both with and without RAM upgrade, shows no errors.

I feel like I’ve literally tried everything. I know i’m probably beating a dead horse, but I’m broke and in the middle of school, so I’m desperately trying to fix it. Can anybody help?

2 External Monitors on L560

Hello

I’m having trouble using two external monitors with my L560.

One monitor is connected with VGA to VGA, another monitor is connected with DP to HDMI.

When both are connected the VGA connected monitor functions, but there is not connection detected with the other monitor. When the VGA is disconnected, the DP-HDMI functions (so there seems to be no issue with the cable and ports etc.).

The "Extend" setting (press F7) uses the Laptop monitor and one external monitor. Ideally I want the laptop screen to be blank and the display extended across the 2 external monitors.

Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve the matter? Do I need a Docking station?

Any advice is much appreciated

Michael

Any help
