I work at a phone and computer repair store, and we have a customer’s laptop that is experiencing issues with horizontal lines appearing on the screen randomly. I’ve taken a look at the motherboard, and there is a component that has fallen off the board, it was rattling around inside the laptop beforehand. I don’t know what the component is, or what it controls, so I don’t know if it’s related to the problem our customer is having. The component is circled in orange, and the pad that it is supposed to be soldered to is also circled. Thanks.
Lenovo ix2-dl Magically Lost all my files
I have a Lenovo Ix2-dl
Its set up with 2x3TB HDD in raid 1
One of the drives died. I replaced it and it automatically rebuilt the array
Once it was finished everything looked good. I shut the device down. Moved it into my network closet and plugged it directly into my router
I went to log in this morning and it had updated to a new firmware and says its empty. and all my network shares are gone.
Im in desperate need of help. All my important doccumetns and family photos were on this thing because with raid 1 a total loss of data was supposed to be an astanomical chance. Both drives function fine but it just decided it was empty overnight. If i pull the drives and plug them into my desktop they spin up and work fine but windows says I need to format them before i can use them.
Please help. Idk how i would even go about running recovery software on a nework share.
Lenovo Ideapad 310-151SK black screen Desktop
I’ve been using this laptop since I got it, a few months ago.
Today, as usual I started using it and the screen goes randomly black.
I panicked, pressed a few keys (ctrl-alt-delete, ctrl-alt-f4, ctrl-alt-w) nothing happened.
So I turned it off on the button and on again. After a bit long atualization I entered my password and my desktop turned black again.
I found out I can still change the brightness and lock it. So Iocked it, used the Microsoft Hello and that one activated the McAfee LiveSafe on Firefox. If I close my browser I might not be able to open it again. I can still "minimized" firefox (When I try to minimize I’m only diminishg the window and the window automatically travels to the southwest corned of my screen as a form of a green rectangle with the simbols of dimished, its opposite and close.
Again, the only things I can do now are changing my brightness "minimize" my firefox and lock my desktop.
What do I do???
Edit: I can do ctrl-alt-del as well.
Dual Monitors (DisplayPort) not working on Pro Side Dock (40AH) with T480
I have two 27" 2560×1440 60hz monitors that are plugged into the new Pro side-connect dock (40AH) with a new T480 (Intel 620 integrated graphics) in Windows 10 Pro. I can get either monitor to work fine with the dock individually, but trying to run both simultaneously by extending or duplicating the desktop between them seems to fail as selecting either option under Display Settings just makes the primary monitor black out for a few seconds then come back – the secondary monitor stays black. There’s no error msg or popup that would help me investigate further unfortunately.
I’m trying this with the T480’s lid closed, and I’m running the latest 1.14 BIOS update and latest Intel HD graphics drivers. This setup worked fine on my old OneLink dock and X1 Carbon previously, so I don’t think it’s an issue with the monitors themselves.
Anyone have a similar setup with the new Pro dock that’s working?
